Cash Honoured By Family At Festival

Johnny Cash's children and siblings stepped onstage on Thursday (04Aug11) for a tribute concert honouring the late country icon.

Cash's daughter Rosanne and son John Carter Cash joined the Ring of Fire hitmaker's siblings Tommy and Joanne, as well as granddaughter Chelsea Crowell, for the Johnny Cash Festival in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

They thrilled the sell-out audience of 7,000 as they each took on their favourite Cash tracks, including Folsom Prison Blues, before joining together for a group finale of Will the Circle be Unbroken.

Kris Kristofferson also appeared at the concert to perform Why Me Lord, and Me and Bobby MCGee, while George Jones sang I've Got Stripes and hailed Cash as "my dearest friend in Nashville".

The show raised an estimated $300,000 (£188,000) to help preserve Johnny Cash's childhood home in Dyess, Arkansas and create a museum dedicated to the singer in the small town, according to RollingStone.com.

Rosanne thanked fans for supporting the cause, telling the crowd, "There are four generations of Cashes here tonight. And if it wasn't for that little house, none of us would be here."
