Johnny Cash Joins Gospel Music Hall of Fame

Johnny Cash will be posthumously inducted to the Gospel Music Association's Gospel Music Hall of Fame on Jan. 24 in Hendersonville, Tenn. The induction class also includes DeGarmo & Key, Golden Gate Quartet and the late radio personality Bill "Hoss" Allen.

Established in 1971, the Gospel Music Hall of Fame has inducted more than 150 members. In related news, an auction featuring Cash's vintage guitars, costumes, handwritten lyrics, passport, briefcase and more will take place on Dec. 5, administered by Julien's Auctions. Items will be on view in Los Angeles prior to the sale. Some of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Recording Academy's charitable organization, MusiCares, for musicians in need.
