    Reissue history for Unchained:

As with most of the other Cash albums on American Recordings "Unchained" has been reissued numerous times, whenever Rick Rubin has moved the distribution of his label's releases. Thus Warner Music, Universal/Lost Highway and Columbia/Sony Music have all released "Unchained", each time with a new catalog number (the contents, of course, have remained the same).

    Outtakes:

Little is known about the sessions that produced "Unchained". But around 2002 a CD titled "Unchained Outtakes" surfaced among collectors. This CD included a number of outtakes and alternate takes, including Don't Sell Daddy Anymore Whiskey, I Changed The Locks, As Long As The Grass Shall Grow (alternate lyrics), My Two Timin' Woman, two takes of The Devil, Trouble in Mind, and That Lucky Old Sun. With the release of the "Unearthed" box in 2003 several additional outtakes surfaced: Pocahontas, two takes of I'm A Drifter, Down The Line, I'm Moving On, Heart Of Gold, The Running Kind (with Tom Petty), Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby, Brown-Eyed Handsome Man. According to John L. Smith other outtakes include Addicted To Love.
