A Thing Called Love
  • Columbia
  • The original Canadian LP pressing used an alternate master for Kate; "...this is a Canadian pressing of this album with everything apparently the same with the exception of this title. Since the wording is different in parts of the song I have elected to place it under this heretofore unissued master number rather than thinking of it as just an unused outtake..." (John L. Smith, Another Song To Sing, page 443). According to John L. Smith this alternate version was recorded on January 13, 1972, while the 'regular' version was recorded on February 11, 1972.

Canadian covers has "Litho in Canada" written at the bottom of the cover spine.

This alternate version of Kate was included on Reader's Digest Music's "The Great Seventies Recordings", where it was incorrectly listed as previously unreleased, this in spite of the fact that it was included on the official Columbia released Canadian pressing - albeit by mistake.
