August 1960	Johnny Cash - vocals and acoustic guitar Luther Perkins - electric guitar Marshal Grant - bass W.S. Holland - drums W.S. Holland leaves Carl Perkins' band and joins the Tennessee Two which now are called the Tennessee Three. He will be a permanent member of the band for more than 37 years.
1961	Johnny Cash - vocals and acoustic guitar Luther Perkins - electric guitar Marshal Grant - bass W.S. Holland - drums June Carter The Carter Family June Carter joins the show regularly, as does her mother Maybelle Carter and her sisters Helen and Anita Carter, The Carter Family. The Carters stay a major part of the band till the end.

Holland - drums June Carter The Carter Family Statler Brothers - vocal background harmonies Lew DeWitt, Don Reid, Harold Reid and Phil Balsley, The Statler Brothers (former "The Four Stars" and "The Kingsmen"), join the Johnny Cash Show and stay a regular part for the next 8 years.
January 1966	Johnny Cash - vocals and acoustic guitar Luther Perkins - electric guitar Marshal Grant - bass W.S. Holland - drums Carl Perkins - electric guitar June Carter The Carter Family Statler Brothers - vocal background harmonies Carl Perkins joins the band for a few shows, from 1967 on he will be a regular member of the Johnny Cash Show.

Holland - drums Carl Perkins - electric guitar June Carter The Carter Family Statler Brothers - vocal background harmonies On Jul 28, 1968, Luther Perkins plays his last concert with the Johnny Cash Show. He dies after being seriously injured in a house fire on August 5. Carl Perkins takes over the lead guitar part for the next few shows.

Holland - drums Carl Perkins - electric guitar Larry Butler, Bill Walker - piano June Carter The Carter Family Statler Brothers - vocal background harmonies The Johnny Cash band incorporates a piano player almost regularly from 1971 on.

Bob Lewin June Carter The Carter Family The band has a horn section now! Jack Hale (french horn, trumpet, harmonica) and Bob Lewin (french horn, trumpet, keyboards) join the band.
